Hi all, one of my clients (Ben Afia) and one of my co-conspirators (Mark McGuinness) are doing an event with the lovely folk at 26 on Blogging for Business.

I have two tickets – one for me and one for a friend.

In true Web 2.0 style, we asked what you wanted to know and now we're ready with some answers. Or at least some more questions.

Mark writes the popular blogs Wishful Thinking and Lateral Action. He'll share what he's learned and lead a panel discussion with fellow business bloggers including Rachel Clarke, who blogs at digitalstuffing.com and works at twentysixLondon, John Dodds who is a marketing consultant who writes at Make Marketing History . and Chris Garrett. Chris is a consultant, author and web geek who helps people make more money by growing and engaging their internet audiences. They’ll be talking about:

    * How can you find the time and motivation to write a blog?
    * Why do some blogs succeed while others languish in obscurity?
    * How does the rise of social networks such as Twitter and Facebook affect blogging?
    * What is the future of business blogging?

The event takes place at Tequila's offices in London and there will be a rather lovely bar, so it should be fun.

Ada Lovelace Day

Supporting Suw Charman-Anderson's vision of writing about women in tech led off by the first, Ada Lovelace. I signed the pledge .

Leading women in (or near) tech that I've had the pleasure of working with over the years

First one I ever met was Pip Errington . She'd come out of early days with Commodore [remember them] and Heron International selling down the Tottenham Court Road. She taught me the names of loads of new organisations while we researched possible occupiers for Canary Wharf.

At the same time I started learning from Ann Wilson who ran the IT for us at JLW – she helped me learn about databases – a lifelong love affair. She got curious when I asked her about ASCII and wanted to know who'd been feeding me lines! Anyway I ended up being the local expert on the 'smart' software package (wordprocessor, spreadsheet and database) and I loved it… the JLW Docklands property database was mostly built by me.

I had a bit of a lull after that but came back to tech via my friend, Annie Crabtree who was training with Andersons and hung out with the boys at Cook Associates. We started having fun with spreadsheets together.

And Adriana Lukas got me right back into it when we traded our skills and she set me up with a blog – and I was away laughing… and Rachel Clarke who got me over to SXSW and back into the digital media world about two years ago. She's built an awesome profile online

Finding the Brits at SXSW…. so far met two of the Birmingham Crowd at registration (9 am), Pete Ashton and Joanny Geary. Joanna did a brief interview with me on here new toy, the Nokia N95… hope it makes it past the cutting room floor!

1 pm Later….. with Rachel Clarke …at Bloghaus . and Adam Metz who was wearing the coolest union jack cufflinks… read closely "elegant" and "arrogant" Ha.
